Coronas Fast Prize Leads Remington Park Futurity Qualifying

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 4, 2010—Coronas Fast Prize remained undefeated through two career starts, winning the second of 10 trials on Saturday for the $596,041 Remington Park Futurity and posting the top time at 330 yards.
Owned by the Madill, Okla. partnership of Weetona Stanley and William Smith and trained by Heath Taylor, Coronas Fast Prize was ridden to victory in her Remington Park debut by Cody Jensen. The 2-year-old filly crossed the finish in 16.672 seconds over the fast track and that clocking stood throughout the remaining eight trials as the best of the evening.
Bred in Oklahoma by Stanley, Coronas Fast Prize won a race at Louisiana Downs in early March before moving to Oklahoma City for an attempt to qualify for the Grade 1 Remington Park Futurity.
The top qualifier and the last qualifier are full sisters. Both Coronas Fast Prize and Fast Prize Ribbon are 2-year-old fillies by Corona Cartel from the Heza Fast Man mare Fast First Prize. Both are owned by Stanley and Smith, bred by Mrs. Stanley and trained by Taylor.
Fast First Prize, a grade 1 stakes producer, won the 2002 Heritage Place Futurity (G1) at Remington Park.

The 2010 finals will take place on April 17th.
